I love to travel! I love getting away, I love trying new things, seeing new places, and truthfully, I love just going back to the old spots we have already explored and fell in love with on the first visit. One of the things I don't love about traveling is the cost. *Sigh* Just the hotel costs alone make me cringe. I will spend hours on the internet trying to find a good deal.
Today I'm introducing a resource that will help you (and me, yippee) make your next vacation affordable! Timeshares! Timeshare Rentals are a convenient way to book your room for your next family vacation at a discounted rate. Have you heard of RedWeek? If you have then you already know what a great resource this website is for saving money and finding a great place to stay. I was not familiar with them before now... and I'm thrilled to be able to introduce them to you today!

How to use the website:
Once I sign in as a member I can choose what my objective is at that moment: Finding a Timeshre, Sell or Rent a Timeshare, or Timeshare exchange. Or you can just explore the website. Right on the home page is some awesome deals highlighted for you to explore... Hawaii $43/night or Las Vegas $42/night. I took a look at the Las Vegas option - $43 a night - who can beat that? I was just there with my sister and we paid A LOT more than that, and our room was a dive. *Sigh* Once you open up the resort page you select you are given pictures, amenities, date availability with the rates per night, and customer reviews of the property. Once you select a date you are given an even more detailed summary of the property, amenities, as well as a way to contact the owner. So easy! Once again, you do need to be a member to be able to contact an owner.
If you know your destination all you do to locate a timeshare is click on Find a Timeshare, click on the State (I choose California to play around with), pick a city (I choose Anaheim), then take a look at your options. I choose Peacock Suites Resort to view because it is within a mile of Disneyland. The rates for the dates I viewed were from $79.00 - $139.00 a night. We have stayed in that area on several occasions over the past several years and have never paid under $110.00 a night for a decent hotel close to Disneyland. And getting a room, a decent room, for a $110.00 a night took a lot of research and patience on my part.
When you figuring out if the cost a night is a good deal don't forget there are other factors to consider than just the price. I know I could get a hotel in that same area of California for the same price range - but the question is would it be as nice? NO. Not unless you happen to stumble onto a great deal. Factors to consider are the extra 's you get with renting a timeshare - including having a larger room for your family. Or a kitchen so you can cook, or at least keep healthy snacks on hand to avoid eating out the entire vacation. The money you save not eating out every meal adds up quickly. Also, all the amenities that are included!
Things I liked about the RedWeek website:
- You can search by specific locations or just browse.
- You can search by things that are important to you such as: Kid or pet friendly, By theme parks or beaches, or an all-inclusive resort.
- You can also search the top 25 resorts rated by customers.
- They have different forums and resources - these forums answer every question you can think of on renting or selling a timeshare.
- RedWeek is also a BBB business that has an A+ rating.
- AND there are some pretty sweet places to rent for 1/2 the price you would normally pay.
- They also have a scam alert on their site, which means they care about your safety. LOVE THAT!
Things I didn't like about RedWeek.com website:
- Truthfully, the only thing I could come up with is that the home page is a bit 'busy' for me, it wasn't super eye appealing - but that is just a personal preference. The website is super easy to use.
Now, for those people who want to add their resorts to the selling list it seems pretty straight forward as well. Looks like you list your timeshare, negotiate a deal, and then you get offers from RedWeek customers. However, I didn't list any timeshares, so I unable to give more than that information.
- Membership (required to add postings)
- Timeshare Rental Postings
- Timeshare Resale Postings
I highly recommend trying out RedWeek.com. I'm a bit disappointed I didn't know about them on our last family trip to California or my Las Vegas trip with my sister, as I would have been able to try out one of the fantastic resorts. I'm definitely going to be eyeing some places for our next vacation... where will that be? ... not really sure but Hawaii sounds like a dream!
